Hell Hot 40 came out in October 2021, and it sits in the middle of Endorphina's Hell Hot series — between the 20-line and 100-line versions. The grid is 5×4 with 40 fixed paylines, left-to-right wins only. There are no free spins. No bonus buy. The Gamble feature is the only bonus mechanic, and it works differently from most: you see the dealer's card before you decide whether to play. That one detail changes the math significantly. At RTP 96.04% the game is honest, medium volatility, and built for players who want fast loops without a lot of waiting around.

What's in the Game

Stacked Wilds

The flame Wild lands stacked on all five reels. A full-reel wild is a real possibility, not a marketing stretch. Five of a kind pays 1,000× your stake — the top payout in the game.

Scatter Pays Anywhere

The gold star scatter pays from any position on the grid. Three or more trigger a payout regardless of paylines. Five scatters returns 500× your total bet.

Risk Game

After any win you can play the Risk Game. A dealer card is revealed face-up. You pick one of four face-down cards. Beat the dealer to double. You can fold before picking — which is the whole point. Up to 10 consecutive rounds per win.

No Free Spins

None. Deliberately. The game is built for speed — you always know where you stand after each spin. The Risk Game is the variance multiplier here, not a bonus round.

How to Play

  1. 1

Set your bet using the +/- controls. The stake is the total across all 40 lines — minimum €0.40, maximum €200 per spin.

  2. 2

Hit Spin, or use Autoplay for continuous rounds. Turbo mode cuts the animation short if you want faster sessions.

  3. 3

Wins pay left-to-right from reel 1. Scatter pays anywhere regardless of position.

  4. 4

After a win, the Gamble button appears. Check the dealer's card. If it's a low card (2–4), you're playing at a mathematical advantage. High card? Collect and move on.

  5. 5

Open the Info panel in the top right for the full paytable and the exact RTP breakdown for each dealer card.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Hell Hot 40 has no free spins round and no way to trigger one. The Risk Game is the only bonus mechanic. If free spins are important to you, the Hell Hot series isn't the right fit — Endorphina's Book of Souls or Mongol Treasures have dedicated free spins features.
1,000× your stake. At the maximum bet of €200 that's €200,000. The Wild pays 1,000× for five of a kind. Stacked wilds can cover multiple paylines simultaneously, but 1,000× is the theoretical ceiling per payline, not per spin.
Endorphina classifies it as Low. Most review sites and player session data place it at Medium. In practice it plays like Medium volatility: wins come regularly, but the large hits from stacked wilds are infrequent. Budget accordingly.
Yes. The game runs on HTML5 and scales to any screen size. There's no separate mobile version — the same build works on desktop and phone. The Risk Game card interface works cleanly on small screens.
All three share the same core mechanics: fruit symbols, stacked wilds, scatter pays, Risk Game. The number in the title is the payline count. Hell Hot 100 has a slightly higher RTP at 96.07%. Hell Hot 20 has fewer combinations per spin but higher per-line value. Hell Hot 40 is the middle ground and the most-played of the three.
